QuestionI've been practicing yoga for a while now. I want to continue but I seem to have wrist problems now, on and off, which I'm assuming is from waitressing, do you have any advice? Maybe different variations of moves? Or maybe my weight is in the wrong part of my body? Besides looking for a new job because I'm already on that ;) lol Thanks in advance for any info! Hi! I have chronic tendinitis in my wrist so I know your pain! I waitressed for 15 yrs off and on and it only got worse. New job time for sure! Lol! As for yoga, I know a lot of people try the closed fist method, but that just feels so closed and angry to me… I suggest trying fingertips or avoidance for a while if you absolutely cannot put any pressure on the wrist. If a little pressure is fine, make sure you are spreading the weight from the first finger mound out through the top of the palm then down through the thumb. You then want to lift a little by the wrist to relieve some pressure and create a sort of suction cup action. Also, relax the fingers! I have also found that sleeping with a brace at night is very helpful and ice ice baby after practicing! To stretch the wrist try padahastasana and wiggling the toes :) also flexing the hand and pulling one finger at a time toward you helps relieve pain and feels good! Hope this helps!!! All the best!
